Yes — you can get a proper sourdough starter shipped to Ireland without hunting through local shops or starting from scratch. Squirrelly Girl ships our dehydrated starter free to addresses right across Ireland, from busy city apartments to quiet country kitchens.

Because it is dehydrated, it travels brilliantly. No jar to leak, no live culture to feed in transit — just a shelf-stable packet that waits patiently in your cupboard until you are ready. Add flour and water, follow the simple steps, and it wakes up bubbly and ready to bake.

Questions About Shipping a Starter to Ireland

Will a dehydrated starter survive the journey to Ireland?

Absolutely — that is exactly why we dehydrate it. Drying pauses the culture safely, so it travels well by post and arrives ready to rehydrate, with no refrigeration needed.

How soon can I bake after it arrives?

Most bakers see plenty of bubbles within a few days of feeding. Once it is rising reliably, you are ready for your first loaf, plus pizza, focaccia and all your favourite bakes.

What if my starter does not activate?

You are covered by our 100% activation guarantee. Follow the instructions, give it a little patience, and if it still will not wake up, we will help you get baking.
