Beginner questions, answered

How long does a beginner's starter take to activate?

Most beginners see a bubbly, ready-to-bake starter within a few days of rehydrating — far faster than growing one from scratch, which can take weeks of feeding and patience.

Do you ship free everywhere in Canada?

Yes — every order ships free across Canada from our micro-bakery in British Columbia. The dehydrated starter is shelf-stable, so it arrives perfectly ready to wake up.

What if my starter never activates?

Then you pay nothing — our 100% activation guarantee means we'll replace it or refund you. Beginners are protected, full stop.

Grab your Squirrelly Girl Starter today and bake the loaf you've been dreaming about. Your future self says thanks.
