Questions Wanaka Bakers Ask

How does shipping to Wanaka work?

Your order ships free to any Wanaka address. Because the starter is dehydrated flakes, it travels beautifully and stays shelf-stable on its journey — no chilled parcel, no rush, no fuss.

How long until I can bake my first loaf?

Most bakers see their starter wake up and bubble within a few days of regular feeding. Once it doubles reliably after feeding, it is ready to bake with — and the included guide walks you through every step.

What if my starter does not activate?

That is what the 100% activation guarantee is for. Follow the instructions, and if your starter does not come to life, we will sort it out. You are never left with a dud culture and no help.
