Townsville sourdough starter FAQs

Does a dehydrated starter survive the trip to North Queensland?

Absolutely. Dehydrated starter is shelf-stable by design — it's made to travel long distances. A warm climate like Townsville's is no problem at all, and your kitchen's natural warmth helps the starter activate once it wakes up.

How long does it take to activate?

Most starters are bubbling within a few days of feeding with flour and water. The instructions walk you through every step, and the Sourdough Academy covers everything else.

What if my starter doesn't activate?

That's exactly what the activation guarantee covers. If your starter doesn't wake up when you follow the instructions, we'll sort it out — no drama.
