Buy Sourdough Starter in Palmerston North — Ships Free NZ

If you're in Palmerston North and want to buy sourdough starter without the two-week gamble of growing one from scratch, you're in the right place. Squirrelly Girl Starter is a dehydrated sourdough starter from our Canadian micro-bakery — shelf-stable, posted to your Palmy doorstep completely free, and bubbling away within days of waking.

Why dehydrated? A live starter needs feeding within days of arriving and doesn't exactly enjoy long trips in a courier van. Our starter is dried into flakes that travel happily in a plain padded envelope, then spring back to life with just water and flour. No feeding deadlines, no stress — just follow the step-by-step instructions and watch it take off.

Palmerston North sourdough FAQs

How long does delivery to Palmerston North take?

Because the starter is dehydrated and shelf-stable, it ships in a regular padded envelope — no rush fees, no fragile live culture to babysit in transit. Shipping to NZ addresses is free, and your flakes arrive ready to wake up whenever you are.

Why buy a dehydrated starter instead of a live one?

Live starters need feeding within days of arrival and don't always survive long journeys. Dehydrated flakes are dormant and hardy — add water and flour, follow the instructions, and most bakers see bubbles within a few days.

What if I can't get my starter going?

Every order is covered by our 100% activation guarantee: follow the step-by-step instructions and if your starter refuses to activate, we'll make it right. No guesswork, no wasted money.
