Questions Matamata Bakers Ask

Does shipping to Matamata really cost nothing?

Yes — shipping is free to Matamata and every other New Zealand address. The starter travels as lightweight dehydrated flakes, so it posts easily and arrives ready to wake up.

How long until I can bake my first loaf?

Most bakers see lively, bubbly activity within a few days of daily feeding, and a first loaf not long after. The included instructions walk you through every feed, so you always know what to look for.

What if my starter doesn't activate?

That is exactly what the activation guarantee is for. Follow the instructions, and if your flakes don't come to life, we will sort it out — you bake with zero risk.
