🍫 Sourdough Chocolate Cake

Because sometimes your sourdough starter deserves to become cake.
You'll Need:
Cake:
✅ 1 cup sourdough starter (discard works)
✅ 2 cups flour
✅ 1½ cups sugar
✅ ¾ cup cocoa powder
✅ 1 cup milk
✅ 1 cup oil
✅ 2 eggs
✅ 2 tsp vanilla
✅ 1½ tsp baking soda
✅ 1 tsp salt
Chocolate Frosting:
✅ ½ cup butter, softened
✅ ⅔ cup cocoa powder
✅ 3 cups powdered sugar
✅ ⅓ cup milk
✅ 1 tsp vanilla
Quick Method:
1️⃣ Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
2️⃣ Mix starter, milk, and flour.
3️⃣ In another bowl, whisk sugar, cocoa, oil, eggs, vanilla, baking soda, and salt.
4️⃣ Combine everything and mix until smooth.
5️⃣ Pour into a greased cake pan.
6️⃣ Try not to eat the batter. 😅
Bake:
🔥 Bake for 30–40 minutes
🔥 Toothpick comes out clean = done
🔥 Let cool completely before frosting
Frosting:
1️⃣ Beat softened butter until creamy.
2️⃣ Add cocoa powder and mix.
3️⃣ Slowly add powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla.
4️⃣ Beat until smooth and fluffy.
5️⃣ Spread generously over cooled cake.
6️⃣ Pretend you'll save some for tomorrow.

This cake has caused people to say:
"I'm only having one piece."
Followed immediately by:
"Well... technically that second piece is just quality control." 😆
