🧄🍞 Roasted Garlic Oregano Sourdough Bread

The loaf that makes your entire house smell like an Italian bakery.

You'll Need:

✅ 100g active sourdough starter

✅ 400g warm water

✅ 500g bread flour

✅ 10g sea salt

✅ 1 whole head roasted garlic

✅ 1 tbsp dried oregano

Quick Method:

1️⃣ Mix starter and warm water until cloudy.

2️⃣ Add flour and salt. Mix until no dry flour remains.

3️⃣ Cover and rest for 30 minutes.

4️⃣ Do 4 sets of stretch-and-folds every 30 minutes.

5️⃣ During the first fold, gently add the roasted garlic and oregano.

6️⃣ Shape into a tight round loaf.

7️⃣ Place in a floured banneton or bowl, cover, and refrigerate overnight.

Bake:

🔥 Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C)

🔥 Preheat Dutch oven for 30 minutes

🔥 Score the loaf.

🔥 Bake:

  • 28 minutes covered
  • 10–12 minutes uncovered

🔥 Cool before slicing.

Baker's Warning:

Your family will suddenly appear in the kitchen asking:

"Is it ready yet?"

Every 7 minutes.
